ECU students protest potential data center facility


GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) – College students and employees at East Carolina College joined members of the neighborhood to voice their opposition to a possible crypto mining facility coming to the Greenville space Thursday afternoon.

The group gathered on campus to host a “Say No To Crypto” protest exterior of the coed heart. Organizers posted their issues on the Pirate Imaginative and prescient display screen and handed out supplies to college students passing by.

Sophomore Owen Bergquist says he’s involved in regards to the quantity of vitality a crypto facility may use and thinks that it wouldn’t carry a large enough financial influence to the realm.
